We’re so excited to welcome our second CWD Contributor, Rachel Anne. Rachel is a southern firecracker raised in the deep south of Georgia with a real spunk for life. We’re thrilled to have her as our Art Confidant to help inspire art into all aspects of our life (home, style, and entertainment). Check out her blog – Feel Good Time for a peek into Rachel’s life and her website of beautiful paintings. We can’t wait to get started!
“I have a deep love for oil paints. In fact, I swoon over them. I need to focus on playful abstracts that are rich in lush color palettes often inspired by architecture, fashion and travel. I also have a great passion for painting portraits of my favorite classic icons from Grace Kelly to Jackie O’. I like to think of myself as a modern day Nancy Drew, always down for a spooky mystery, crazy adventure and of course ghost hunting. Like the hissing cicadas in the kudzu canopies of Georgia, I am loud and boisterous always tappin’ my toes to the sounds of Elvis, Ray Charles and James Brown. I am a sucker for anything leopard and floral and I happily admit that I have a fetish for collecting vintage brooches.. As long as my treasures are classy, timeless, chic and modest, I’m good to go! I live for the classics, study the footwork of Fred Astaire, swear by the Charleston and idolize Grace Kelly. My daydreams are often about my future home, and traveling here in the US and abroad. The Caribbean, Palm Beach, Charleston, Savannah and the French Riviera call to me constantly. Audrey Hepburn said it best, “Paris is always a good idea.” I feel really optimistic and passionate about life, spontaneity, and having a feel-good time. -Rachel”
As of late, I have been swooning over unique styles of bar carts within the home. To style a bar cart, my current inspirations come from the photographer Slim Aarons. Using these photos for inspiration, I’ve incorporated ginger jars as vases showcasing a palm leaf to capture the essence of the tropics. This Grace Kelly print is an artwork that is simple, chic, clean and small enough to frame and even place in front of a statement piece such as a gold ornate mirror. My rule of thumb is symmetry, therefore, if the mirror or artwork is smaller in width compared to the bar cart, I would even out the wall space with a wheat sheaf wall sconce on both sides of the mirror. With this styling, you can create a simple yet chic tropic touch to a bar cart with affordable artwork that is simple, and quite the statement piece.”

Happy Thanksgiving, bring on the homemade rolls and pumpkin pie!

I’m so excited to be launching a series of guest posts from some talented new contributors! The CWD team has hand picked fashion gurus, artists, party planners, photographers, crafters, and more to bring fresh content and new ideas for your life & style.
First up is my unbiased favorite – my sister, Courtney, who if you don’t know already has impeccable taste. From our days in matching Laura Ashley dresses, we have grown up with a shared love for all things feminine. I have admired her my whole life and am so grateful for the friendship we have. Since becoming a wife and mother, we have grown even closer sharing design ideas, swapping recipes, offering motherly advice, and collaborating on projects and parties for our families. She is an amazing cook, fabulous writer and selfless mother. She has been an incredible cheerleader and support to me from the first days of CWD graciously editing my websites and articles repeatedly over the years. I absolutely cannot wait for her line of dresses to come out next month and thrilled that she’ll be sharing some of her style secrets regularly on the blog.
I am blessed to be a mother, sister, daughter and wife. There is nothing that brings me more joy than raising my five children. While being a stay-at-home mom is my career, I have always had an affinity for fashion and style. It has been perfectly said “fashion is what you buy, style is what you do with it.” I am inspired by the classic grace of Jacqueline Kennedy’s wardrobe and the simple beauty of Audrey Hepburn in her little black dress. I love to window shop in Valentino and Prada. Unfortunately I have a very hard time finding off-the-rack dresses that work with my lifestyle. So for the past few years I have been altering, designing, and dreaming of my own dresses. With the encouragement of my darling family, I am launching my dress line, courtneykate next month! My goal is to design modest timeless dresses for women I love. You can find more information on courtney-kate.com or follow my Instagram @courtneykate. I’m so excited to be a style contributor on Caitlin’s blog! – Courtney Zwick

This darling video made it’s way into our inbox and we couldn’t help but share. Heidi + Heather are twin sisters who wrote the children’s book Fairy Birds. They made this video to go along with the book and included a few of our pillows! My dear friend Nicole Davis of me oh my and her beautiful children are the stars of the show and I cannot get enough of it!
